Por Ti Mujer in the week ‘Anti-Racism and Diversity Week’ of ENAR

The Por Ti Mujer Association has participated from 20th to 22nd of March in the ‘Anti-racism and Diversity Week’ (ADWorganized by the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) in the Altiero Spinelli building of the European Parliament in Brussels, within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

ENAR works with the mission of eradicating structural racism and discrimination throughout Europe through the construction of structures, institutions and attitudes based on racial equality and the equitable distribution of power, privileges and rights. It is the only pan-European anti-racism network that combines the defense of racial equality and the facilitation of cooperation between anti-racist civil society actors in Europe.

This network was created in 1998 by grassroots activists with a mission to achieve legal change at the European level and make decisive progress towards racial equality in all EU Member States. Since this year, the Por Ti Mujer Association has become part of it, together with multiple organizations from all over Europe, with the aim of strengthening our networking in the fight for the eradication of all forms of racial discrimination that are likely to be exercised of the rights of immigrants and racialized people.

Given the rise of extreme right-wing political movements, the expansion of hate speech against migrants and racialized people, and the criminalization of human rights defenders, the ADW has allowed the creation of a space for dialogue that has brought together institutions , civil society organizations and anti-racist activists.

Throughout the conference, the participants have exchanged good practices and work strategies for the eradication of racial discrimination from a systemic, intersectional and decolonial approach and at a European, national and local level. This exchange has made it possible to establish a series of recommendations for the consolidation of a monitoring plan and a public political agenda that addresses it in a structural way.

For this propose, from various experiences and perspectives, the speakers have shared their experiences on various topics, such as climate justice, intersectional discrimination, migration, remembrance and reparation, or the implementation of action plans against racism at the national level. national and European
